Mechanical Engineer
What you will do
Responsibilities
- Responsible for project management and engineering functions for assigne equipment orders.
- Follows ASC's MEP (mechanical engineering process) including adhering to process steps and process-related policies
- Independently engineers and designs autoclaves and custom process systems assuring that equipment meets all customer and regulatory mandates.
- Responsible for creating Bill of Materials utilizing OMS data base and overseeing timely procurement of materials for assigned projects.
- Generates design approval and fabrication level drawings using 2-D and 3-D design software.
- Releases drawings to fabrication team.
- Works closely with and advises fabrication team as needed during construction of equipment.
- Generates and regularly updates Project Schedules and Design Documents for assigned projects using various software packages including MS Project Word Excel and Access
- Communicates with customers regarding product design project schedule project progress equipment fabrication installation customer training equipment acceptance and addresses all customer questions and concerns
- Acts as project champion with various departments to facilitate timely cost efficient and accurate purchasing fabrication testing installation start-up training and/or repair of products.
- Evaluates existing designs/processes for possible improvements in design cost efficiency and reliability.

Requirements
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be able to independently perform and fully understand all engineering analysis required to design custom process control equipment.
- Must be able to solve design problems using creativity and ingenuity.
- Areas of expertise: Mechanical Engineering Design Machine Design Statics Dynamics Strength of Materials Numerical Analysis Thermodynamics Fluid Mechanics Heat Transfer and 3-D Design Modeling.
- Additional desired area of expertise: Vibration Analysis Turbomachinery Industrial Economics and Management FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
- Must be competent performing a wide variety of analysis’ including mechanical and thermal induced deflection and deformation stress &
- strain volume pressure temperature air flow horsepower storage capacity thermal capacities pump sizing fan and duct sizing heat transfer and more.
- Must be able to independently organize work-load multi-task prioritize and use sound judgment.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as previous project management experience or formal project management training.
