Equipment Engineer

What you will do

Responsibilities

  • The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design implementation and maintenance of ASC’s buildings and equipment including our upcoming fourth building expansion.
  • This role manages large-scale capital projects such as building modifications office remodels and the integration of large industrial equipment and cranes while providing custom engineering support for production jigs and fabricated items.
  • Oversees the structural and system modifications required for the expansion into a fourth facility.
  • Manages project budgets tracks expenditures and provides cost estimates for facility improvements and equipment purchases.
  • Manages the procurement installation and commissioning of large industrial equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Coordinates and supervises office remodeling projects and building modifications to ensure they meet operational needs.
  • Liaises with external contractors architects and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely on time and within budget.
  • Evaluates and optimizes facility layouts to improve workflow space utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes production requirements to provide technical solutions for complex fabrication challenges.
  • Designs and engineers custom jigs fixtures and specialized tools to improve production efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborates with production to oversee the build of custom-engineered items for specific production projects.
  • Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs for all building systems and heavy machinery.
  • Ensures all facilities and equipment comply with ASC’s safety policies building codes and environmental regulations.
  • Maintains facility documentation including blueprints schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Immediately communicates facility-related risks or production bottlenecks to relevant managers.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
  • Works closely with the Mechanical Production Manager Manufacturing Engineering and Shop Supervisors to align facility capabilities with production goals.

What helps you succeed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Civil or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in facilities engineering or industrial project management.
  • Proven experience in building modifications office remodels and heavy equipment installation.
  • Advanced skill in reading and understanding engineering drawings and architectural blueprints.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing custom jigs and facility layouts.
  • Positive can-do attitude with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to spend significant time in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to noise dust and fabrication activities.
  • Standing walking and climbing stairs/ladders several times a day is required to inspect job sites and equipment.
  • PPE will be required including hard hats protective glasses steel-toed shoes and ear protection.
  • Regular use of phone and computer for project tracking and design.
