Safety Representative
What you will do
Responsibilities
- Daily safety walks throughout all facilities.
- Conduct monthly safety performance audits and inspections.
- Develop, document, and track corrective action items from audit findings.
- Maintain and update safety policies to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation.
- Deliver specialized departmental safety training and monthly management training.
- Train and certify employees in vehicle operation, equipment safety, and related programs.
- Investigate accidents and incidents; prepare and review reports, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency management programs and drills.
- Assist in developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and identifying workplace hazards.
What helps you succeed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willing to train the right candidate.
- 6 months to 1+ years of health and safety experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations (CA Title 8, 29 CFR).
- Must type 25-35 wpm.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
- Working hours: Monday - Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Friday 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
