What you will do

Responsibilities

  • Examines documents such as drawings procedures work instructions and forms to verify compliance with document control policy.
  • Confers with document originators or engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintains accurate databases and executes all transactions recording the origination and life cycle history of all numbered documentation using the Controlled Documents system.
  • Scans and maintains documents in the Controlled Documents system.
  • Assures that only latest revision of drawings/documents are released within the document release system and physically removes obsolete revisions from circulation.
  • Responsible for maintaining control of all production release drawings from initial release through completion of product.
  • Assists Document Control with miscellaneous projects tasks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of general clerical and/or document control experience.
  • Experience of working within an engineering documentation environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of documentation work flow.
  • Good communication skills with management and co-workers.
  • Type minimum 50 wpm and basic knowledge with Microsoft Office including knowledge of PC file structure.
  • Ability to operate electronic document management systems is necessary.
  • Demonstrate detailed approach to projects.
  • Sitting standing and walking for extended periods
  • of time is common.
  • For purpose of collecting or distributing document control paperwork such as production drawings or completing similar tasks the successful candidate must be able to spend limited amounts of time in a heavy manufacturing environment that is not air-conditioned and has exposure to noise and dust/particles caused by welding and other fabrication activities associated with the production of industrial process equipment.
  • PPE will be required including hard hats steel-toed shoes protective glasses and ear protection.
  • Additional protective devices such as dust mask are available.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations.
